It was a come from behind win for the Swift Current Kal Tire 57s over the 18U AAA East Central Red Sox on Saturday. The final score was 9-7.
The Sox got the jump on the 57s on a Jarret Rude double and a single by Gradyn Wilson winding up with a 5-1 lead at the end of the second inning. The 57s capitalized on a double at the bottom of the third to add one more.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, the 57s took charge knocking in a total of 5 runs and taking the lead 7-5. Another 2 runs in the 5th capped the scoring for Swift Current.
The Red Sox tried to pull in out in the 7th inning with a double from Cade Armstrong driving in Rude and Wilson, just falling short of the comeback
57s pitcher Kyrell Adair got the win along with a single that drove in a pair. Dayne Schommer took the loss for the Red Sox.
The Red Sox head to Saskatoon tomorrow to face the Diamondbacks, and this long weekend, it’s off to the Selects Tournament slated for Estevan.
