RCMP in Manitoba have recovered approximately $45,000 worth of stolen property after executing a search warrant in the community of Wheatland.

On May 7, 2025, around 6:30 p.m., officers from the Brandon, Carberry, and Souris detachments launched an investigation following reports of stolen items in the area. The joint effort led officers to a property in Wheatland where the search took place.

The investigation uncovered a cache of stolen goods, including John Deere equipment and an enclosed trailer believed to have been taken from Steinbach.

Suspect arrested during investigation

While police were still on scene, a suspect drove by the property and was pulled over by officers. A 42-year-old man from Wheatland, Christopher Bell, was arrested without incident.

Bell faces multiple charges, including three counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, four counts of weapons possession contrary to order, and two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Court date set for later this month

Bell was released from custody following his arrest and is scheduled to appear in court in Brandon on May 26, 2025.

The investigation continues.
