Airdrie will be busy all summer with different road and lane closures.

Ryan Couillard, a project manager for the city of Airdrie, talked about some projects that are currently ongoing.

"We've got a temporary road closure on Summerfield Close. It started on April 28, and what we're doing out there is a sanitary main replacement. We are anticipating that project to be completed on May 23. The next one that we have is a road closure on Jensen Place, and in there we're doing a water main replacement, and it is scheduled to run from May 19 to about July 12."

He went on to talk about the road rehabilitation program the city has, and different roads that will see some concrete replacement throughout the summer, dates are yet to be confirmed.

"We have East Lake Ramp, which is between Veterans Boulevard to East Lake Avenue. The work in there, we're contemplating doing that as a full road closure, but it would be a nighttime closure."

Sierra Springs Drive from Yankee Valley Boulevard to Main Street will see some work done, along with Main Street from Yankee Valley Boulevard to Summerfield Close will see concrete replacement.

"We will be working in Woodside Canals and Bayside, those are our local and collector roads that we have. There won't be road closures so much in there, but you'll see some lane closures. You'll see some concrete replacements, things of that nature, which will affect some traffic pattern when those activities are happening."

Last on the list for now is Yankee Valley Boulevard between Market Street and East Lake Boulevard, where concrete replacement will be done and some enhancements to the wheelchair ramps.

Paving and line painting for the projects that need it will take place during the overnight hours, Couillard explained.

Two bridges in Nose Creek Park are currently being replaced.

The bridges will look the same as the other new bridges in Nose Creek Park. Last construction season, two bridges in Nose Creek Park were completed, bringing the total to five out of nine.
