Rocky View County has downgraded its fire ban to a fire advisory for both East and West regions.
The County said it will continue to monitor conditions and fire risk across the region, and restrictions may be updated. Fire permits will not be issued, and all outstanding permits are cancelled.
"Although conditions have changed with the recent precipitation, we ask for the public’s continued assistance in remaining vigilant when burning under what restrictions allow," the County said Tuesday in a Safe & Sound alert.
"If conditions change, the County will continue to assess the conditions and may impose a fire ban at any time."
Under a fire advisory, all burning and fireworks permits are suspended. Burning is banned, with the following exceptions:
-
Indoor household fireplaces
-
Incinerators (for farm and acreage use)
-
Burning barrels
-
Camp stoves (properly attended)
-
Barbecues (charcoal briquettes, propane, or natural gas)
-
Wood pellet grills
-
Propane/natural gas fire pits
-
Recreational campfires in an approved burn pit
-
Chimeneas
-
Fires contained within approved facilities and appliances in designated camping and recreational areas
The City of Airdrie remains under a fire advisory as well.
