On May 13, 2025, at approximately 9:00 am, Treherne RCMP received a report of a collision involving a school bus and a tractor near the intersection of Road 37 West and Road 43 North, in the RM of Grey.
When officers arrived on scene, Emergency Medical Services were already attending to occupants of the bus.
Through their initial investigation, RCMP learned a grader travelling southbound down Road 37 West was pushing debris along the road and being collected by a tractor when the school bus rear-ended the tractor. The grader was not involved in the collision.
The school bus was transporting 31 children to school in the Prairie Spirit School Division, eight children were taken to hospitals in the area, all with minor injuries.
Both drivers involved in the collision were taken to hospital as a precaution.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
Treherne RCMP along with Manitoba RCMP Criminal Collision Investigative Team continue to investigate.
