A vehicle fire northbound on the QEII near CrossIron Mills Mall, just one kilometre north of Stoney Trail Northeast, has been extinguished by fire crews. Traffic flow has since resumed.
Wednesday's fire was the second such fire in less than 24 hours that occurred near Airdrie.
On Tuesday evening, traffic was snarled by a vehicle fire that had been attended to by Airdrie fire crews. That fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported.
