The Richardson Pioneer Men’s Fastball League is back for another season. Richardson Pioneer Wadena along with five original league teams (Foam Lake Merchants, Fishing Lae Cubs, Wynyard Jr. Blues, Rosebud Royals and Rosebud Jr. Royals) join the Rhein Rockets. Teams will all play as part of a home and home schedule before heading into playoffs from July 19-20.
The league kicked off with a cold game at North Shore Fishing Lake between the Rosebud Jr Royals and the Fishing Lake Cubs on Wednesday. The Jr. Royals defeated the Fishing Lake Cubs 16-8. Emerson Sparvier and Mason Sweatman each pitched 3 innings for the Royals with Austin Paquachan handling 5 innings for the cubs and hitting a home run in the top of the 1st. Winning pitcher was Mason Sweatman.
The Royals Emerson Sparvier had 4 hits, Caine Peterson, Mason Sweatman, Bryden Staniec and Kayden Armbruster each had 3. The Cubs Barry Belanger went 4 for 4 and Carson went 3 for 4.
