Power has been restored to a Bible Camp in the middle of a fire burning in Nopiming Provincial Park.
Southland Church announced Thursday via Facebook that surveillance cameras at Bird River Bible Camp had turned back on, allowing them to see how things are going.
"We can see firefighters on the cameras, and they are spraying down Black Bear Lodge and Beaver Lodge," said Stefan Duerksen of Southland Church in a post on Facebook. "Please pray the power stays on and the pumps keep going to supply them with water."
They also mentioned that they have been able to watch the fire via the NASA website, and at last check, it showed that there is a new fire north, east and west of the camp, and cameras are showing smoke near their driveway.
"Please keep praying for rain, for the fires to be extinguished, for protection for the camps, cottages, homes, businesses, and first responders. Please pray for those who are evacuated and have lost property and loved ones."
The church says the fire is not only affecting their camp, but also many of their congregation who own property in the area.
The fire in Nopiming Provincial Park continues to burn out of control, growing to just under 10,000 hectares.
