The Man/Sask Auctioneering championships took place on Friday, May 9th at the Virden Heartland Livestock where 13 of the best livestock auctioneers vied for top award over-all.
Killarney Auction Mart's Allan Munroe claimed that top spot this year!
"Where Allan really shines is in the interview part of the competition," shares Rick Wright, Executive Administrator for the Manitoba Livestock Marketing Association. "He was 3rd overall, placing the highest in Manitoba and Saskatchewan by a fair bit and that certainly helped him win that buckle! It was quite an accomplishment for Allan to become the Man/Sask champion!"
"It was quite exciting," shares Allan Munroe. "There are some extremely talented auctioneers in Manitoba and Saskatchewan alone, so I was quite excited that I won it!"
Munroe attended auctioneer school in 2007 and has competed in the Man/Sask event every year since. He has been to the nationals in 2012. "So, we just keep working away it and improve our skills all the time!"
