November 3, 1929 - May 16, 2025
Jeanette passed away Friday, May 16th, 2025, at the age of 95.
She is predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Glenn; her parents, Reg and Irene Metheral; her daughters, Marcia and Susan, and her siblings, Jim, Isabelle, Lois, and Helen.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Debbie (Dean); sons, Jim (Shelley), and Guy (Marilyn); her grandchildren, Jocelyn, Trevor, Tanya, Chad, Leah, Wade, and Kimberley, and her great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Brayden, Maysen, Blayke, Presley, and Rone. Jeanette also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, and brother and sister-in-laws, in addition to lifetime friend, Marg McNaughton.
Jeanette was born and raised in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, where she met the love of her life, Glenn. They were married on July 8th, 1949, and they spent the following 72 years of their happy, love-filled marriage raising their five children, spending time at the curling club, and watching countless sporting events. As an avid curler, Jeanette was part of the team that won the Royal Purple Interdistrict Provincial Playdowns three years in a row. Along with her husband, she attended Roughrider games for decades as a season ticket holder, and also enjoyed watching baseball, whether that meant travelling to cities to watch professional games or just spectating at the nearest ballpark.
Throughout her career she wore many hats, working at the Weyburn Mental Hospital, the Weyburn Medical Clinic, and finally at the Co-op Store before retiring. Jeanette was also an active member of the Presbyterian church, but her greatest achievement was her family and her enduring marriage to Glenn, who she dearly missed, and with whom she has now reunited.
The Funeral Service for Jeanette will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from Knox Presbyterian Church, Weyburn, Saskatchewan with Reverend Devon Pattemore officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, Saskatchewan. A tea reception and fellowship will follow at Knox Hall.
