We took our final delivery of the seeding season out to Elizabeth Walkeden and her family with our Great Plains Ford Seed N Feed! They were able to enjoy a delicious Boston Pizza lunch in great spirits beside having seeding halted with the rain!
The Walkeden family farms out near Tribune and have made great progress with seeding before being stopped, with Elizabeth saying, “Well, we've been stopped for a week now, but we were getting close to done, maybe two or three days left. So, we were getting close.”
They’ve received nearly three inches of rain over the last week, which they are appreciative of given how dry it’s been the last few years including last harvest season. The Walkeden’s seed durum wheat, peas and canola, with just a few quarters of canola left to seed before putting a bow on the seeding season.
Speaking of wrapping it up and putting a bow on it, we have concluded another year of our Great Plains Ford Seed N Feed! A special thank you to everyone who entered, and to all the farmers out there working hard to put food on our table, even if Mother Nature has other ideas!
