The Tim Hortons' Smile Cookie campaign brought in a significant amount of funds at the beginning of the month for the Airdrie Health Foundation (AHF).

For this campaign, $76,743.54 for the AHF, which will be used to help enhance health care here in Airdrie by supporting Airdrie's highest priority healthcare needs.

"You're kind of speechless when you hear how much money was raised by selling cookies. We're just honoured," shared Michelle Bates, Executive Director with the foundation.

The foundation supports the urgent care center, home care, and palliative care. Bates explained that almost anything to do with health care in Airdrie, they support.

All smile cookies sold at Tim Hortons locations in Airdrie, Crossfield and Cross Iron Mills Mall went towards the foundation.

"When we started, we were just a small group advocating for healthcare, then becoming a charity and getting the awareness out there and the work that we do, then seeing the community support that, it's just amazing."

Last year, when the campaign supported the AHF, over $62,000 was raised. Over the previous four years, the AHF has received $210,989.51.

Bates concluded by once again thanking all those who purchased cookies, decorated cookies and Tim Hortons for hosting the campaign.
