Canadian country music artist Brad Johner is gearing up for a lively return to Humboldt as he and his family band prepare to perform at the upcoming Living Skies Music Festival.
Johner, a long-time favorite in the Saskatchewan music scene, confirmed that he will be joined by his brother Ken and at least two of his sons, Luke and Aiden, for the performance. Luke will play piano while Aiden handles bass. While the rest of his sons are scattered across the globe — with two currently performing on cruise ships and another in Texas — Johner said their participation often comes as a surprise.
“Sometimes I don’t even know who’s going to show up until the day of,” Johner joked. “But at least a couple of my boys will definitely be with us. They’ve played the whole summer with us.”
Johner is no stranger to Humboldt, having previously performed multiple shows at the Uniplex. He expressed excitement about returning for the festival, which features both country and rock lineups over two days. He noted past collaborations with several other artists on the bill, including Aaron Goodvin, with whom he shared the stage just last summer.
Festival goers can expect a setlist that blends Johner Brothers classics with newer tracks, including their crowd-pleasing single Bring Back the Mullet.
“It always goes over really well at festivals,” said Johner, who promised a fun, high-energy show.
Merchandise will also be available at the festival, including a unique USB card loaded with music and videos, along with T-shirts, hats, and other fan favorites.
While Johner performs across Western Canada, he emphasized that Saskatchewan remains the heart of his touring schedule.
“Playing in our home province is always a lot of fun,” he said. “We know so many of the fans personally — it’s like performing for friends everywhere we go.”
The Living Skies Music Festival will take place over two days, with country acts scheduled for one day and rock performances the next. Johner’s set is expected to be a highlight of the event, combining family talent, hometown charm, and signature Saskatchewan country flair.
