There is a temporary road closure at the Strathmore Agricultural Grounds.

According to the Strathmore & District Agricultural Society, the main road leading to the campgrounds will be closed between Monday and Wednesday as crews work on the roads.

"Wheatland County is doing this on a sponsorship for us," projects director Danielle Paddock. "They are bringing in gravel, regarding the roadway leading up to our grounds, the road in front of our rental buildings, and the road going through our campground."

Crews will also be bringing in calcium to place on top of the main road to reduce dust and hold the road together.

"There's a lot of traffic that goes through that road. It gets used by people that use our baseball diamond, our campground, Civic Centre patrons, high school kids, and people who come and use our buildings," added Paddock.

Work is done on the road regularly, with this kind of renovation occurring every few years.

"However, it will still need touch ups here and there throughout the rest of the year."

The road work will not cause delays down Wheatland Trail but will require those entering the Ag Grounds to head through the Gate 2 entrance.

The Ag Society thanked Wheatland County for their generosity in sponsoring the road work.
