There was a historic turnout at the Chestermere Fine Art Guild's annual art show and sale.
The event took place on Saturday, May 24, at the Chestermere Rec Centre, and featured dozens of pieces showcasing the work of 14 local artists.
"I love the comradery, and new members come constantly," said Lorraine Everett, an artist with the guild. "Some leave, some stay. Most of all we enjoy each other. We all have something in common."
Everett joined the guild a decade ago and has taken part in the art show for several years. She works through a variety of mediums to show the different styles that artists can incorporate.
"We learn different techniques from each other. Everybody paints differently, and it's interesting to see how somebody else accomplishes what you would like to accomplish."
Other artists with the guild said the event was the guild's most successful yet.
"It's wonderful. We have new members, new artists, and we've achieved so much over the years," added Everett.
