It takes countless hours of training, both physically and mentally, on the parts of track and field athletes. It’s also hours of coaching and facilitation by teachers and community coaches, not to mention the hours of set up, take down and administration to run a meet.
It all came together on Tuesday, May 27 when over 700 student athletes gathered in Saskatoon at the Gordie Howe Sports Complex to compete in the Horizon Central Athletic Association District Meet. Athletes went head-to-head in a host of track and field events at the Intermediate, Junior and Senior levels.
The top two finishers in each of the events at the competition levels have earned the right to compete in the SHSAA provincial meet slated for June 6 and 7 in Moose Jaw.
Pole vault and 3000 metre race results will be available once those events have been completed.
Big thanks to everyone for their hard work and dedication goes out from the HCAA administration.
