The Town of Okotoks is looking for artists for a couple of public art pieces.
They've put a call out for artists to design and paint two murals on the windows at the Municipal Centre.
It can be either one artist or multiple artists working on the murals, but there are themes the Town wants the murals to follow.
One is an open-themed design that celebrates the Stampede and the line-up of summer events happening around town, while the other mural will be a winter holiday mural that is inspired by Whoville from the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.
The Town is asking for the winter holiday mural to feature vibrant colours, playful characters, and a festive atmosphere.
The Stampede/Summer mural will be completed between June 24 and 28, while the Winter Holiday mural will be completed between November 4 and 8, with work taking place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Each mural will be awarded $3,000, inclusive of paint, materials, and installation.
To be considered one of the muralists, the artists must submit an artist statement, a portfolio of past work, references, and a concept of the mural.
