The boys of summer are back in action! The Western Canadian Baseball League season opened last night in Medicine Hat with the hometown Mavericks scoring two in the bottom of the 9th to beat the defending champion Okotoks Dawgs 12-11.
The Mavericks will welcome the Moose Jaw Miller Express tonight. Also tonight, the Swift Current 57s play the Red Sox in Regina and the Weyburn Beavers will host the Saskatoon Berries.
The Florida Panthers eliminated the Carolina Hurricanes in Stanley Cup playoff action last night. Florida won the game 5-3 and the series 4-1.
The Edmonton Oilers can join the Panthers in the Stanley Cup final with a win in Dallas tonight. The Oilers lead the Western Conference final three games to one.
And the Toronto Blue Jays took two of three in Texas, including a 2-0 win over the Rangers yesterday. The Jays are back at home tonight, hosting the Athletics.
