The Saskatchewan Roughriders are welcoming the Winnipeg Blue Bombers into Mosaic Stadium on Friday night for the second half of their pre-season home and home series, after the two sides met last week in Winnipeg to the tune of a 15-9 Bombers win.
The Roughriders are resting several starters tonight, QB Trevor Harris, RB AJ Oulette, and OL Logan Ferland on that list. They are sitting out to give more opportunity to players on the bubble, the backup spot for QB and RB just a few position battles going into tonight.
Looking for a spot inside the Roughriders' receiving core is Rosetown born player Daniel Wiebe, a late round pick by the Roughriders this past year out of the U of S. Wiebe's work ethic has been on display all camp long, and tonight he will look to add to his two receptions for 13 yards in the first game.

Another local connection to the pre-season roster is Eatonia's John Stevens on the defensive line. At camp as a territorial junior, the Saskatoon Hilltops star player joined Wiebe in donning Roughriders colours for the first time last week, something celebrated by his alma mater high school back home.
Fans can watch the pre-season online at CFL+ as Stevens and Wiebe take the field again Friday. The game kicks off at 7:00 PM from Mosaic Stadium in Regina, the final tune up before the Roughriders host the Redblacks in the first game of the 2025 CFL season next Thursday.
