There will be a temporary overnight disruption of Urgent Care at the Airdrie Community Health Centre on Tuesday June 3 due to a required electrical upgrade.
According to a notice posted by the Airdrie Health Foundation from Alberta Health Services, the temporary closure will begin on Tuesday June 3 at 8 p.m. and last till Wednesday June 4 at 7 a.m.
“The UCC will reopen at 7 a.m. the following morning, June 4. During this temporary closure, nursing staff will remain on-site to assist with redirection to alternate emergency departments in neighbouring communities, and access to EMS services as required.”
The notice states that alternate Emergency Departments include the Peter Lougheed Centre Emergency Department in Calgary (29 km) and the ED at Didsbury District Health Services (45 km).
“As always, residents are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency. EMS will remain available to the community and will work to ensure residents continue to have access to the emergency services they need.”
For non-emergency health-related questions, residents are also reminded to call HealthLink at 811 to speak with a Registered Nurse, or to book an appointment with a family physician for follow-up.
“We are grateful for the support of surrounding healthcare centres and medical staff and would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time,” the notice added.
