The Okotoks Dawgs had their 2025 Home Opener last night (Saturday, May 31) against the Energy City Cactus Rats.

Before the first pitch was thrown, the Dawgs gave legendary Don Seaman a salute.

The salute was topped off with a tribute video to Don Seaman and all of the Dawgs teams gathered together and tipped their caps to the principal donor of the Seaman Stadium complex.

There was also a banner unveiling of their 2024 Championship Banner.

The game began slow, with neither team scoring until the sixth inning.

In the top of the sixth, the Cactus Rats scored a single run, but the Dawgs quickly came back and earned three runs in the bottom of the sixth.

The Dawgs were in the lead during the seventh inning, but the Cactus Rats tied it up, causing the game to go to a 10th inning.

The Cactus Rats ended up winning the game with a score of 7 to 5 in the 10th.

Both Connor Crowson and Jake Skaggs were highlighted for their efforts in the game.

Skaggs went 3-for-5 with an RBI, while Crowson went 3-for-4 with a walk.

Crowson got to base four times.

The Dawgs take on the Lethbridge Bulls today, with first pitch being thrown at 2:05 p.m.
