The Moose Jaw Miller Express recorded their first win of the Western Canadian Baseball League season in Weyburn yesterday.

William Edwards went 2 for 4 with a home run as the Millers topped the Beavers 8-7.

Also on Sunday, the Medicine Hat Mavericks improved to 5 and 0 with a 13-4 win over Swift Current. The 57's are winless after 4 games.

Canadian curling legend and Moose Jaw native Pat Simmons has been named head ice technician at the Temple Gardens Centre. His appointment comes as CURLSASK designates the Moose Jaw Curling Centre a high-performance regional training hub.

The facility will now serve as a key site for developing elite athletes across Saskatchewan. Simmons brings decades of experience, including national and international titles, and will lead efforts to ensure world-class ice conditions while supporting athlete development at all levels. Moose Jaw's Central Cyclones' spring football camp is in the books. Last season, the Cyclones finished with a 6 - 2 record and finished second in the league. 

The Peacock Tornadoes and Vanier Vikings have their spring camps coming up later this month.

In case you missed it, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers beat Saskatchewan 27-20 Friday night, wrapping up the CFL pre-season. The Riders open the regular season Thursday night at Mosaic Stadium against the Ottawa Redblacks.

And the Toronto Blue Jays completed a 4-game sweep of the Athletics with an 8-4 win yesterday.
