Alberta Health Services (AHS) has provided an update on the ongoing renovations taking place at Airdrie Urgent Care Centre (AUCC).

AHS wrote to DiscoverAirdrie, sharing that they are pleased to see the expansion of the Airdrie Community Health Centre is progressing and creating a larger, thoughtfully designed environment to enhance healthcare services for the growing community.

"For the development of the Airdrie Community Health Centre optimization project, phase 1 was completed and opened to the public in January 2025."

They shared that this renovation included the consolidation of public health and other non-urgent care services, such as postpartum and rehab services. The consolidation of these services allowed for the expansion of the urgent care space by almost sixty percent.

"Phase two is well underway with an anticipated completion date of late summer 2025. This phase involves renovations to urgent care, which will increase treatment room sizes and capacity by up to six rooms, including a new trauma and negative air room, and a dedicated dictation room."

The urgent care renovations will also provide a new EMS park area, improved patient sight lines and waiting area, increased patient privacy and improved patient access and quality of care overall, shared AHS.

"The third and final phase will include renovation of the current UCC location to consolidate Home Care support and create new administrative and meeting space. The expected completion is late 2025."

AUCC will be closed tonight from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. due to critical electrical upgrades.

Alberta Health Services also addressed some photos that were shared online, showcasing the current state of some rooms in AUCC.
