On March 21, 2025, employees going to work discovered that their oil site facility had been entered unlawfully in the Fox Creek area. Investigation revealed that witnesses had followed the suspect to Whitecourt where Whitecourt RCMP took the suspect into custody. Consequently, a search warrant was completed on the suspects vehicle and supporting evidence of the break and enter was located.
Brett Laramore (41), a resident of Fox Creek, has been charged with the following:
- Possession of stolen property over $5000
- Possession of Break-in Instruments
- Break and Enter to Commit
Laramore was released for court first appearance in Alberta Court of Justice in Whitecourt on June 24, 2025.
