Winnipeg female dead after slipping into water in Whiteshell

A 38-year-old female from Winnipeg is dead after slipping into the water in the Whiteshell Provincial Park over the weekend. 

On May 31, around 12:45 p.m., Whitemouth RCMP responded to a drowning at Sturgeon Falls near the Nutamik Lake in the Whiteshell Provincial Park.

Officers along with Manitoba Conservation Officer Service, and EMS responded right away after receiving reports of a female falling into the water. 

She had slipped on the rocks and was pulled into the lake by the strong current. She was later pronounced deceased. 

Whitemouth RCMP continue to investigate.
