A collision between a motorcycle and SUV claimed the life of a Winnipeg male over the weekend.

On May 31 at 4 p.m., RCMP officers from the Stonewall / Headingley Detachment responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on McGillivray Boulevard, located near Road 8E, in the RM of Macdonald.

From the investigation, it was determined that a 47-year-old male from Winnipeg was operating the eastbound motorcycle when an SUV collided with it. The SUV was being driven by a 17-year-old male, also from Winnipeg. Officers believe the SUV was attempting to pass another vehicle when the collision happened.

The 47-year-old motorcycle operator was pronounced deceased on the scene. The 17-year-old was treated and released on the scene.

Stonewall / Headingley RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
