A Trusted Name with Deep Roots in Saskatchewan
Commissionaires has officially opened a new branch in Swift Current, marking a significant step in expanding their long-standing presence in Saskatchewan. While the organization has been serving the province since 1948, this is the first time they’ve established a permanent office in the southwest region.
"We’ve been operating in Swift Current for decades, supporting the RCMP and local institutions like the Regional Hospital," says Jonathan Tremblay, spokesperson for Commissionaires Saskatchewan. "But as of April 1st, we now have boots on the ground with a full-time office downtown, co-located with the Chamber of Commerce."
Not-for-Profit, Mission-Driven
Founded by veterans of the First and Second World Wars, Commissionaires is the only non-profit security company in North America. Their core mission is to provide meaningful employment opportunities to veterans of the military and law enforcement. Today, they also extend that mission to anyone committed to the safety and security of Canadian communities.
"Being a non-profit allows us to lead with our values," Tremblay explains. "We’re not here to just turn a profit – we’re here to deliver quality service and give back to the communities we work in."
Tailored Services for Local Needs
Commissionaires provides static guarding, bylaw enforcement, mobile patrols in marked vehicles, and customized security solutions for businesses and institutions. With recent reports of increased crime in Swift Current, their presence brings peace of mind to business owners.
"We provide a physical, visible deterrent to crime," says Tremblay. "Our guards and patrols can help protect property, equipment, information, and people–whatever our clients need."
Hiring Local, Serving Local
Already, the Swift Current branch employs 30 to 40 guards, with plans to grow that number as demand increases. The company is committed to hiring locally and offering meaningful, stable employment in the region.
"We’re looking to expand services such as alarm response and residential patrols," Tremblay adds. "And we’re always open to working alongside local law enforcement and municipalities."
Community First
Partnerships are key to Commissionaires' approach. Through their relationship with the Chamber of Commerce, they’ve begun networking with local businesses and elected officials. "We're eager to get involved in community initiatives, fundraisers, and other ways to give back," says Tremblay.
Looking Ahead
"Commissionaires has been part of the Saskatchewan landscape for 75 years," Tremblay concludes. "With this new office in Swift Current, we’re not just expanding our footprint – we’re deepening our commitment to the communities we serve."
For businesses looking for trustworthy, values-based security services, Commissionaires offers a proven, community-oriented solution.
