The City of Moose Jaw's Cured in Place Pipe (CIPP) sewer lining project is moving forward, with CCTV work being done over the next several days to complete sewer assessments.

Residents should expect lane restrictions on the following streets:

  • Wellington Drive from Arlington Avenue to Wellington Place, Wednesday, June 4;
  • 13th Avenue NW from Albert Street to Carleton Street, Thursday, June 5;
  • 16th Avenue NW from Stadacona Street W to Caribou Street W, Friday, June 6 to 9.

CCTV sewer assessments are part of a larger project to inspect and maintain sanitary sewer infrastructure in older parts of the city, the majority of which is constructed of Vitrified Clay Tile. The material has a long service life but is subject to fracturing and breakage due to its glass-like nature.

Compromised locations are identified by CCTV inspections, and severely damaged sections are to be replaced via isolated spot repair open excavation. CIPP lining will then be utilized to fully rehabilitate the sewer pipe, the CIPP lining can also be used to repair compromised pipes without dig repairs.

The contract was awarded to Michels Canada Co. in November 2024, with an anticipated project cost of $1 million and is to be completed in July of this year.
