Looking Glass Theatre (LGT) is thrilled to announce the launch of its second season, following a successful and well-received first run.

"We were really thrilled with the product we put on stage," says Marc A. Moir, co-artistic director of LGT. "It was our first time doing a full season, so there were things we needed to pivot a little bit... but the shows themselves were great."

Laura Kathleen Turner says the reviews they got through the first season were fantastic, and it was perfect to cap it off with "Pilgrim's Progress."

"It was really well received, and it was quite well attended," she says.

A new season with new stories

Looking ahead, Moir and Turner say there are three shows to look forward to in season two.

It will start off with "A Christmas Carol" this December, then "The Bellefontaine Bridegroom" in February—a quirky murder mystery—and finally, "Maid Marian" in April.

Turner is especially eager to close the season with "Maid Marian"—a one-woman show written by her husband, in which she will be the sole performer.

"I'm not really nervous, I'm just looking forward to it," she says.

Moir says he is looking forward to playing Scrooge in the season's opening performance, and getting to act alongside his children for the first time.

He’s also anticipating a bold new experience with "The Bellefontaine Bridegroom."

"I'm excited to do something completely different than I've ever done before," he says. "It is just this bizarre, and bold, and brilliant, and just incredibly different piece."

Season passes already selling

Season passes for season two are already selling, Moir and Turner say, with many pass holders from last year returning.

"The exciting thing about the season passes is it also gets you into our $10 events for free that we're putting on through the year," Turner says.

Those events include a "Dreamtime Theatre: Live Storytelling with Scot N. Moir," Shakespeare night, Broadway night, and original music night.

LGT says passes can be used at any location the group tours throughout the season, including Steinbach, Morden, and Winnipeg.
