KERROBERT, Sask. — Kindersley RCMP say a suspect has been arrested following an overnight operation targeting property crime in the Kerrobert area.

In a late-night message to the community, Staff Sgt. Andrews confirmed officers located a suspect around 1 a.m. Tuesday who was allegedly breaching court-ordered curfew conditions and found in possession of break-and-enter tools.

The suspect was scheduled to appear in Kindersley Provincial Court at 10 a.m. Tuesday. RCMP say they are seeking a remand.

"This is a public court, so if anyone in the community wants to come and voice their concerns if he is released, feel free to," said Andrews. "Your local RCMP will continue to prioritize property theft and make sure that the residents are safe in all of our areas."

Brenden Wilson appeared on new charges, including being unlawfully at large, failing to keep the peace, failing to remain at an approved residence, and possession of items believed to be intended for break and enter. Wilson is already facing 22 other charges. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on June 10.

Police are also asking Kerrobert residents to check security cameras and property for any suspicious activity or missing items between 10 p.m. and midnight Tuesday night. In particular, they are looking for footage of a male with a black polka-dotted backpack or any individuals spotted in yards during that timeframe.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kindersley RCMP.

Andrews said the local detachment remains committed to cracking down on property crime and ensuring the safety of rural communities.

"We’ll keep at it," he said.
