Three homes sustained significant damage Tuesday afternoon after a fire in the city's West End.
The blaze broke out around 1:50 p.m. in the 400 block of Langside Street near Ellice Avenue.
Videos circulating on social media showed massive plumes of smoke pouring into the sky that could be seen across the city.
When crews arrived, they found smoke and fire coming from three homes.
Due to the size of the fire, additional resources were called in to help contain the blaze.
It took about an hour to get the fires under control.
Firefighters searched the homes but did not find anyone inside. Everyone was able to evacuate before crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
One cat was found at the scene. The City of Winnipeg’s Animal Services Agency responded to provide temporary support.
There is no word on what caused the fire or how it spread to three homes.
Fire officials continue to investigate.
