Siksika Nation's annual Princess Pageant returns this week.
The pageant is being presented at the Strathmore Civic Centre on Thursday, June 5, at 5:30 p.m.
During the event, a princess from each age-based category will be crowned. The categories consist of Miss Tiny Tot, ages five to seven, Miss Kookona, ages eight to 12, Miss Teen Siksika, ages 13 to 17, and Miss Siksika, ages 18 to 25.
"They are the role models and ambassadors for the Nation," explained Ashley Wright, the 2025 pageant chair.

Eleven princess candidates will showcase their cultural pride by presenting five-minute speeches on their language and culture and showcasing their specific talents.
"They represent the Nation at various events when they're called upon," added Wright. Last year the royalty princesses attended Calgary Hitmen hockey games and the Calgary Stampede Royalty Tea.
The candidates have already attended an orientation and an Elders Tea. The princesses have prepared throughout the month by participating in mic training, family history activities, and researching cultural topics.
