Burn bans in southern Manitoba on June 4, 2025
Categories
The Rural Municipality of Stuartburn has implemented a complete burn ban.
It says the level three ban became effective on Tuesday, and means no burning is permitted including in recreational fire pits and containers. Back country travel and fireworks are also prohibited.
Meanwhile, some areas of southern Manitoba have lifted their burn bans in recent weeks, thanks to some precipitation and other favourable conditions.
These include the RM of De Salaberry, Hanover, and Richot.
Below is a list of fire restriction levels in various municipalities as of posting this article:
- RM of La Broquerie: Level two and level three. This means, for residents living east of Provincial Road 302, no fires of any type are allowed. For those west of the road, fires are only allowed in approved fire receptacles. No open-air fires are allowed.
- RM of Ste. Anne: Level three. This means only enclosed fires with a cover are permitted.
- RM of Taché: Level two. This means fires are only allowed in approved receptables. No open-air fires.
- RM of De Salaberry: No fire ban.
- RM of Stuartburn: Level three. This means no burns are permitted.
- RM of Piney: Complete fire ban.
- RM of Springfield: Level three. This means all fires are prohibited, though propane barbeques and fire tables are permitted.
- RM of Hanover: No fire ban.
- RM of Reynolds: Level three. This means all fires are prohibited.
- RM of Richot: No fire ban.
- RM of Emerson-Franklin: Burn ban. This targets the intentional setting of fires in grass, brush, etc., and agricultural burning. Enclosed backyard fire pits are permitted.
