For the 35th year, the Okotoks Soap Box Derby returns.

The Annual Rotary Club of Okotoks Soap Box Derby is taking place this Saturday, June 7, on Crystal Ridge Drive.

Because there will be over 100 kids aged 8 to 14 racing down the hill on Crystal Ridge Drive, the Town will be closing down the street.

Crystal Ridge Drive from Downey Road to North Railway Street will be closed at various points this weekend.

It will be closed from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight (Friday) for test runs and from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the Derby itself on Saturday.

If the weather doesn't cooperate and the Derby gets rained out, it will happen on Sunday instead, which would cause Crystal Ridge Drive to be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. that day.
