As the summer months begin, Morden Police Service continues to see a noteworthy number of speeding tickets.

From May 26th to June 2nd, the service gave out ten tickets for the offence.

‘We still have our check stop programs up and running’

Inspector Sean Aune reminds the public that the service’s check stop programs are “still up and running.”

“I'm sure people in our community have seen the cars out there enforcing the traffic laws,” he says. “That will continue right through the summer.”

The inspector says that the trend of speeding tickets is one that “surprises” officers, given the presence of traffic enforcement in the region.

“It seems to continue, so that is obviously a concern,” he says. “We are going to keep being out there.”

Where are the tickets being issued?

Inspector Aune says that tickets are issued in all zones, including on highways, as well as in 50 km/hr zones and school zones.
