Four families received keys to their new homes Thursday morning.
A key ceremony was held at the Habitat for Humanity Build at the Pandora Avenue West development in Transcona yesterday to celebrate this momentous occasion.
"It was a day filled with laughter, happy tears, and dreams realized—a powerful reminder of why we do what we do," said Habitat for Humanity Manitoba in a post on Facebook.
The Pandora Avenue West Development in Transcona is the largest and most ambitious project Habitat Manitoba has ever embarked upon. There will be 55 homes built in total, and the development, which is being built on three acres of land, will be home to approximately 275 people, including 175 children.
So far, 24 families have moved into their homes within the development. Another 11 families are expected to move in this year. The project is expected to be completed in 2026.
"To our new homeowners: welcome home. May your new space be filled with love, growth, and beautiful memories for years to come."
Habitat Manitoba has also started work on building housing for 20 families on Panet Avenue in the Concordia area.
