With one field goal and four extra points in the Saskatchewan Roughriders 31-26 win over Ottawa to start the season, kicker Brett Lauther is now only six points away from registering the round number of 1000 to become only the twenty-seventh CFL player to hit the millennium mark.

With two straight road games coming up Lauther will likely enter the history books before the Roughriders return home on June 28 against BC. Whether it's two field goals, six extra points, or a combination of both, it's going to be something to celebrate.

After passing that CFL milestone the next thing to cross off for Lauther will be entering the Roughriders history books. He is now only 37 away from 1000 career points in a Saskatchewan uniform, as the Nova Scotia native was a nomad kicker around the league until finding a home in Regina.

Another possible milestone is looming this year with Lauther now only one away from game #100 in a Roughriders uniform. He got an early look at the prospects of that milestone on Thursday as teammates Jameer Thurman and Jorgen Hus celebrated games #100 and #150 respectively.
