Motorists are encouraged to use extra caution on Manitoba highways on Saturday as an annual project is taking place.
Members of 4-H club are set to begin their annual cleanup campaign on Saturday, June 7, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
4-H is "an international youth and volunteer organization. It’s a program that provides members with the resources and activities to build self-confidence, communication, and leadership skills while learning about a topic of their choice," 4h.mb.ca says.
The annual clean-up campaign typically takes place in May or June and gives members the chance to improve the environment and provide community service. In previous years, hundreds of kilometres of highways and roadsides have been cleaned.
All 4-H members will be identifiable by wearing a safety vest and the areas being cleaned will be marked with safety signs.
The campaign is weather-dependent. In case of rain, the alternate date for the clean-up is June 14.
