It was another show of support for our fellow Manitobans, this time during the Montcalm Heritage Festival in St. Joseph this weekend.
Fire fighters from St. Jean and Letellier took off their boots and passed them around during the parade, collecting loose change for the Canadian Red Cross Manitoba Wildfire Relief fund.

By the end of the parade route, $1,318.05 was raised. With matching donations from the federal and provincial governments, the boot drive alone will have generated nearly $4,000 for the fund.
"Way to go everyone that was able to make it out. Your help is always very appreciated," said Eugene Fillion, Chief of the St. Jean Fire Department, in a text to PembinaValleyOnline this weekend.
St. Jean is just one of the local fire departments that's been sending members up north to help in the fight against the wildfires.
