Grad season is here, and Mayor Scott Crick is sharing a message with those wrapping up their high school career at Morris School.
"The graduating class of 2025 will be graduating shortly, and on behalf of myself, Council, town staff and the entire town, congratulations to the graduates," he shared during In the Mayor's Chair. "I realize graduating from high school is an accomplishment, but this is the start of the rest of your lives, and we wish you nothing but the best and a very bright future."
Meanwhile, Canada Day is just under three weeks away, and the Town of Morris is planning its celebration for Saturday, June 28th. July 1st falls on a Tuesday this year. and Mayor Scott Crick says the Town is hosting its event the Saturday before so as many families as possible can attend.
"It's going to start between 11am and 1pm with a BBQ lunch at the Morris Pool, and there's free swimming at the pool from noon until 5pm that day," he explained. "From 3pm to dusk, activities will move down to the Valley Ag Stampede grounds where there will be a live band, kids activities and of course, everybody's favorite Canada Day fireworks. Of course that will be weather permitting, but that will be happening on Saturday, June 28th."
