In April 2025, Grande Prairie RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) received information through INTERPOL regarding a male in Grande Prairie, Alta., who was luring children online into sending him intimate images. On June 9, 2025, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Grande Prairie, resulting in the seizure of multiple electronic devices and a firearm. An arrest was also made.
As a result of the investigation, Isaac Thomas Emson (19), a resident of Grande Prairie, was charged with:
- Possession of child pornography;
- Luring a child; and
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized.
Emson was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. He is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on June 11, 2025.
Based on information gathered throughout the investigation, including Emson’s behaviors while being observed by police, Grande Prairie RCMP GIS believe there may be more victims, some of which may not only be online. In order to identify more potential victims as well as help protect the online community, a non-exhaustive list of usernames has been compiled and a photo attached to the release.
