On Wednesday, June 18th, the Canadian Mental Health Association’s (CMHA) Weyburn branch will be hosting their annual general meeting (AGM). Celebrating their successes from last year and preparing for the future, the CMHA also wanted to celebrate the people in the community that make it possible with their community appreciation barbeque. Tasha Collins, program director at CMHA Weyburn, invites everyone to come down for the fun.
“So, we have our AGM and that starts at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 18th and we decided that we wanted to do just a Community BBQ prior to that. We're inviting the community to join us. We'll have hot dogs and snacks and some pop and water and stuff like that. Maybe a couple of little things for the community to do. So, we're just inviting everybody to come down for some hot dogs. We got the street closed off in front of us."
Located at their branch at 404 Ashford Street on the corner of Ashford and Park Street, it’s free to attend as Collins says, “Come and join us for some conversation and connection.” After the barbeque, the annual general meeting will take place for those interested in the CMHA as Collins talks about what will be discussed at the meeting.
“We'll be going over all our successes and everything that went on throughout the year. We will also be determining board members, and we will have obviously some returning board members and then I guess anybody who's interested in learning more about CMHA is welcome to attend the AGM.”
The barbeque is free to attend and starts at 4:30 P.M. and runs until 6 p.m. with the AGM to follow at 6:30 p.m. For more information about CMHA Weyburn, visit their website at www.weyburn.cmha.ca and follow them on their Facebook page.
