Bats go silent for Miller Express in loss to Weyburn

The Moose Jaw Miller Express struggled to generate any offence as they dropped a 13-1 decision to the Weyburn Beavers on Tuesday night in Weyburn. 

The Beavers’ Ian Heck pitched a strong game, giving up only two hits and no runs over eight innings of work. Moose Jaw’s bats were silent, managing just four hits in the entire game. 

Weyburn took a 13-0 lead after seven innings, including three runs each in the first, fifth and seventh innings. 

Moose Jaw’s lone run came in the top of the ninth, with Jackson Yeager hitting a double into centre field to score Adrian Vivo. 

The Miller Express will face another big challenge Thursday night as they host the West Division-leading Okotoks Dawgs at Ross Wells Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
