A sure sign of summer is the Okotoks Parade, which is set to return on Saturday, June 14.
The annual event transforms downtown Okotoks into an outdoor festival,
Along with the parade itself, there are a couple of other events scheduled in the downtown area.
Here's everything you'll need to know:
Pancake Breakfast
Early risers can start their day with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Okotoks Lions Club.
It runs from 8 to 10 a.m. in the front parking lot of The Eagle 100.9 building at 22 Elizabeth St.
Admission is by donation, with proceeds supporting local charities.
Okotoks Parade
The parade will kick off at 11 and it will follow a slightly different route this year to avoid construction along North Railway Street.
Floats will stage along Daggett St., head east on Riverside Dr., then circle onto North Railway St. before heading west toward McRae and Elizabeth St.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair. The Town also recommends sunscreen, hats and water to stay cool and hydrated.
Portable washrooms will be available along the parade route, and public facilities at the Okotoks Art Gallery, Okotoks Museum and Okotoks Public Library will also be open.
Children's Festival
The Children’s Festival will take place at Ethel Tucker Park from noon to 3 p.m., featuring live entertainment and activities for the whole family.
Organizers expect between 2,000 and 3,000 attendees.
Road Closures
Road closures will be in effect across much of downtown Okotoks for the duration of the event.
Closures will be in place for Elizabeth Street, McRae Street, South Railway Street, Daggett Street, Riverside Drive and North Railway Street from McRae to Lineham Avenue.
Full closures will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., but they could start as early as 8 a.m.
The Okotoks Public Library has also announced closures for Saturday.
Parking is available at the eLions Campground, the Okotoks Recreation Centre, the Viking Rentals Centre, and Waller Park.
