A weapons call kept the Winnipeg Police Service busy Saturday.
At around 5:30 a.m. officers responded to an area near the Disraeli Bridge for an armed and barricaded situation with a suspect that was known to police.
As a result, the Disraeli Bridge and the Sutherland ramps were closed to all pedestrians and vehicles for a few hours.
Update: 2 pm - The area is now open to vehicular traffic, however **not** pedestrian or boat traffic. PIO CST. Dani McKinnon on scene. Public Safety remains our top priority. Thank you for your cooperation. pic.twitter.com/9zucre4azw

The bridge has since reopened and police say the situation has been resolved safely.
"There is no longer a threat to public safety," said the WPS in a post on social media. "The Sutherland off ramps are still held for the time being."
The WPS says they will need time to provide any additional information.
The investigation is ongoing.
