Drivers in Okotoks should prepare for a temporary road closure along Avens Way starting this week.
Starting Monday, June 16, Avens Way will be closed between Larkspur Bend and D’Arcy Ranch Drive to allow for a series of repair and paving projects. The closure is scheduled to remain in place until Friday, June 27, weather permitting.
The work includes valve repairs, curb upgrades, and repaving a section of the road that was disturbed during deep utility installations.
Crews will be on site Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the possibility of weekend work depending on weather and scheduling needs.
While the road will be closed to through traffic, local access will be maintained for residents living in the area. Detour signage will be in place to guide drivers around the construction zone.
The Town of Okotoks says the goal is to bundle multiple infrastructure fixes into one project window to help minimize disruptions in the future. Residents can expect the presence of construction crews, equipment, and elevated noise levels during working hours.
