A strong thunderstorm swept through the region on Saturday evening, bringing with it a mix of much-needed rain and some intense weather activity. Rainfall amounts varied from 1/2 inch to 5/8 of an inch, offering some relief to dry fields and gardens but the storm also delivered more than just moisture.

Many residents reported pea-sized hail, and there was a funnel cloud spotted just outside of Humboldt. 

The storm came with frequent lightning, thunder, and strong winds, rattling windows and putting on a dramatic display as it moved through the area. Despite the severity in some spots, the storm was relatively short-lived.
