A 23-year-old male is in custody after assaulting Transit Supervisors over the weekend.

On June 14 at 5:34 p.m., two Winnipeg Transit supervisors were assaulted while checking on the well-being of a transit rider in the area of Fort Street and Graham Avenue. When Central District patrol officers arrived, the suspect was still struggling with the Transit Supervisors. He was taken into custody.

The supervisors had boarded the bus near Fort and Graham to check on a sleeping male passenger. When he woke up, he became agitated and assaulted both supervisors. Both officers sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

A 23-year-old male has been charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer and was detained in custody.
