In a Saturday night heist, two individuals were caught on camera stealing the sleigh-driving skeleton on display outside of High River’s Mystic Manor.

“Over the weekend, we had two individuals who thought nothing of it to take other people's property, but the jokes on them,” said Faye Steinberg owner and creator of Mystic Manor. “If their luck starts to run out, I won't be surprised. The house is very, very protective of people and its space.”

The house was built in 1905 and is full of items that Steinberg hand-picked herself.

“We have spirits in the house, many more than we can count, and then we filled the house with very haunted objects,” she said. “Some of our objects are so haunted we have to be careful with them and have them behind glass.”

According to Steinberg, this is the first time an item has been taken from the property, and since the house is for the community to enjoy, it’s disheartening.

“Anybody who has experienced theft of their property knows it's a very violating feeling to think that somebody else is entitled to your property,” she said. “It's unfortunate, and we're really disappointed.”

Steinberg is urging the individuals to return the skeleton, no questions asked.

“You made a bad decision. You never fail; you either win or learn. So, learn from it and know that it doesn't feel good to steal somebody else's property,” Steinberg said. “Not to mention that it's haunted, and I don't know what will befall you. So, return it.”
