Two days of sales and networking took place last week in Kindersley with the 2025 Trade Show and Exhibition. It was the second straight year for the trade show after a short hiatus following the pandemic, the 35+ year tradition now fully back up and running in its annual nature.
Executive Director with the Kindersley and District Chamber of Commerce Kevin Martin joined us in studio for a recap.
"Last week, Thursday and Friday, it was really good. Quite happy with how things turned out, people were buying stuff, I heard a lot of good comments, and the weather turned out great." said Martin, joking that maybe next year's trade show needs to move outdoors if the heat holds.
Taking up space inside Inter Pipeline Arena this time around, Martin shared some highlights.
"Can't complain. Had a lot of new faces and products which is great." he said. "Everyone I talked to was really happy, and they were doing well."
Martin gave his thoughts on this year's event compared to 2024.
"We had about the same number of vendors, and tables sold. Just different vendors," said Martin. "Attendance was pretty close to last year, within 100 people, I think. A lot of kids came out this year, which was different, I didn't expect that." said Martin excited by the younger crowd, the youngest of which had special colouring stations to tackle while mom and dad perused the aisles.
That welcome addition will likely be back next year as it worked out well for parents. Martin even called back to past events that featured a bouncy castle and more inside the curling when pressed on the topic by morning show host Nick Cooper.
Until that returns, you have to make your own fun:
Finally settled down after a busy week, Martin left the studio with one final thank you to everyone who attended.
"Thank you to everyone who came out." said Martin. "It was awesome, it really was. Everyone who showed up had a good time, and I know I had a lot of interest from vendors wanting to come out to the goose festival this year... so win-win."
Martin mentioned that their annual golf tournament is the next main event on the Chamber calendar. They are accepting entries over the phone and by email for the August 23 tournament, also looking for companies to donate prizes.
"Call the Chamber office at 306-463-2320, or email office@kindersleychamber.com. I will send you all of the information."
